About Linda Hundevadt Pew

Artists’ Statement.
People are Linda Pew’s special fascination and inspiration, as seen in her figurative bronze sculptures. Says Pew, “There is a timelessness about bronze that underscores the universality of emotions. I think of bronze as a bridge between unformed elements and flesh; between the mental state and hard-edged reality”.

Bio:
Linda Pew earned her bachelor’s at Washington College on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She later studied Foundry and the art of lost-wax casting under the nationally acclaimed sculptor Max S, DeMoss, with whom she also apprenticed for several years. Pew’s work ranges from figures of Native Americans, their unique spirit and legends, to children and portraiture. Love of the freedom that underwater swimming provides and folktales from her Danish heritage led her to develop distinctive mermaids, which have become her signature pieces.
